Max is a board-certified and state-registered Professional Counselor Associate with the State of Oregon and holds a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the past three years, Max has studied:

  • Restoration Therapy to understand how unhealthy patterns of behavior negatively affect relationships in people's lives.

  • Attachment Theory to recognize why people attach the way they do to other people.

  • Motivational Interviewing to discover sources of motivation that drive people to grow.

  • Solution Focused Therapy to help find practical and attainable solutions to problems people face.

He believes that regardless of a person's age, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, relationship style, religious affiliation, ability, or socioeconomic status, they deserve to be heard, validated, and supported. Sometimes life can be really hard, and people can develop unhealthy patterns of behavior like taking their anger out on others or turning to unhealthy coping behaviors to escape their pain. With Max, it's possible to uncover what led to those unhealthy patterns and identify healthier ways of being so you can live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Max currently works with individual adults, couples, and late adolescents 16 years and older. When he's not in the office, you can find him rummaging around record stores, playing guitar, cooking, or reading a good book.
