April Riney

Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDR-trained

April Riney graduated with a Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Westminster College, SLC, Utah in 2012. She provides counseling treatment to adults ages 18+ supporting them through their mental and behavioral healthcare needs using EMDR, mindfulness, ACT and IFS frameworks. April is trauma-informed, trauma-sensitive, LGBTQIA+ inclusive and operates from a body-neutral space. Her intersectional work aids clients in seeing themselves as a sum of all of their parts throughout the therapy process and guides her as she navigates clients experiencing things like depression, anxiety and life transitions. She provides an inclusive/calming space for the client to open up and explore who they were, who they are and discover who they would like to be as the author and driver of their lives. She has a passion for working with those who have experienced sexual trauma and is an expert in helping them find and nurture self/selves. Outside of work, you can find her reading, baking, cooking or doing pilates.
